Long Time No Blog

Sooo.....finally I managed to get the time to start blogging again after what seems like forever....I used to have a Xanga blog before but the convenience of having a single login for my email, calendar, photo sharing and blog (THANK YOU GOOGLE!!) is not something I could pass by.....so from now on, this is my only blog.....as the title suggests, it is my life and anything and everything in it that I feel like sharing......be it extreme venting, an expression of joy, sorrow or just a random poem that I write every now and then or a bunch of my latest pics that I want to show off to the world (Modesty is not a strong point for those who know me)......So what has happened so far.....well I don't even remember when I last wrote a blog entry so I'll just start from the end of the previous semester until now.

Last semester was a disaster by itself......but it was an improvement over an even bigger disaster the semester before that....so I'm not complaining or venting.....I'm just glad I got it over with.......and I got something that I had not gotten in a while......a long and well deserved break......4 months at home in India, doing absolutely nothing that would tire me out.....no internships or summer school or even jobs for me.....just complete relaxation and rejuvenation.....

Of the 4 months, I spent most of my time in Delhi but I did visit a different place every month......I went on a South India trip to Chennai and a mini pilgrimage in Tamil Nadu for about three weeks in May......I visited Hyderabad for a week in June and had an absolute blast there.......two of my aunts came over to visit with their families in July and we all went on a big family road trip to Mussorie for a week which was absolutely gorgeous......then in August my parents, brother and I went to Kerala for a week.....it should have been an awesome trip had it not been the fact that I fell horribly ill and was down with a very weird stomach bug of sorts for the next couple of weeks.......so well, that was my summer in a nutshell (read paragraph)

As for right now.....its about 3 weeks since classes started and already I'm looking forward to next semester.......18 credits again but thankfully it isn't as hard as before because I've spared myself the misery of 9 hours of research every week caused by the total waste of time called UROP.....for those of you reading this in your freshman/sophomore years at the university of michigan......my advice to you is, unless you're obsessed with what your project is about or you are desperate for a resume booster....DO NOT DO UROP......it is an absolute waste of time and it is totally not worth it for credit (its a different story if you're getting paid)

What else can I say......there's a lot going on....with the ISA(Indian Students Association) and now maybe the ECA(Engineering Collaboration of the Arts)......combined with all my classes......I've got just about enough time to manage.......Of all my classes tho, I am really really enjoying my class on Egyptian Archaeology......I love Ancient Egypt and I love studying about it as well and I am actually going to visit a museum for this class on Saturday......and I am seriously considering an Egyptology minor if it is offered.

Speaking of Saturdays.....Michigan had a slow start to the football season (to put it lightly).....Two embarrassing losses to start the season were seen as doomsday by many people......but no, the Wolverines fought back to beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish convincingly in their third game and beat the number 10 team in the nation, Penn State, just as convincingly this past Saturday in the big ten opener......Our freshman quarterback looks like he's going to be awesome as time goes on and the team is really on a roll now, under the leadership of the team's "Hart"......Rose Bowl, here we come!!!
